In 1965, Pasadena architects Smith & Williams, known for soaring ceilings and freeform space, completed the Friend Building at Delacey & Green, which joined many mid-century modern buildings nearby. In 2006 Pasadena architects Lim, Chang, Rolling & Assoc. added apartments and stores.
